2022 saw the re-start of many of the activities that our community comes to expect from the KCC and that had been put on pause during the pandemic. We welcomed a full slate of Dory Days activities in June, including the pancake breakfast, the fish fry, and an exhibit on the history of the Dory Fleet curated by residents and Linfield University. Also in the summer, we hosted a concert by Countryfried and the Nestucca Valley Artisans Art Festival. A highlight was the premiere of a new film, “Biketown”, sponsored by the Tillamook Offroad Trail Alliance.

October brought the return of our popular new event, Trick or Treat the Dory Fleet. Dozens of kids and parents dressed up and visited the haunted dories in the KCC parking lot. It was a spooky good time!

Our annual Holiday Bazaar was a huge success, with residents and visitors delighting in the offerings from dozens of local craftspeople selling their wares. The KCC also served as the venue for the annual Chamber of Commerce Holiday dinner.

We continued with our exercise classes and art groups. A full list of what we offer each week can be found here.
Thursdays are now special days at the KCC as we host a weekly Senior Meal! Come by for a low-cost, highly nutritious hot meal with others in our community. Plan to arrive around 11:45 and lunch will be served at noon on Thursdays.
We hosted many weddings, a huge baby shower, several corporate events and trainings, and other events throughout the year. Did you know that most of our operating costs come from venue and other space rentals? If you’re interested in renting out the venue, please call the KCC for more information or look for more information here.
We repaved our parking lot (and now our parking spaces are a bit bigger, making parking easier). We upgraded some of our lighting to give our space a little more atmosphere.
In other news, we hired a new Events Coordinator–Lisa Sears! Welcome Lisa! Lisa is a long time resident of Tierra Del Mar and is excited to help make your event a huge success!
2023 should be another exciting year, and we have a lot to look forward to at the KCC. Our new A/V system is going to be installed sometime this year. We are hoping to add some outdoor picnic tables, and are already seeing our events calendar starting to fill up. If you would like to have an event this summer at KCC, please call us as soon as you can so we can accommodate you on your preferred dates.
Thanks to our community for your support in 2022! We hope you’ll come by the KCC for an event, a class, for lunch, or just to say hello! And if you have a little free time, we’re always looking for volunteers. Visit our volunteer page for more information.
